B. Tech-ECE
About the Course
At present, the Department is offering B.Tech. program in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE). The B.Tech program aims at providing a strong foundation in theoretical, practical and design aspects of ECE. The core of the programme equips students with fundamental knowledge in electronic circuits, electronic devices, signal processing, communication, control theory and computers. Students have got selected for advanced studies in various reputed Colleges of the country as well as abroad.
Career Opportunities
The Practical and systematic environment helps the students to clear their concepts by using Hi-Tech Laboratories. The prospects of electronic professionals are extremely vast and not limited to some particular sector. Electronic professionals have opportunities in Defence, space and other large research organizations that employ professionals in design and development of complex devices and systems for signal processing and telecommunication. Industries involved in design and fabrication of devices, integrated circuits, embedded systems, electronic equipments, biomedical equipments etc also provide large scale placements for electronic professionals.
Eligibility Criteria
10+2 with physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects; chemistry, Biology, Bio – technology, Computer Science, are eligible to pursue B. tech Course. The minimum qualification for admission to 2ndyear/ 3rd semester of the B.Tech. Degree courses are as under.
1. All those candidates who have passed the diploma in Engg. Technology in any branch from any institution of Punjab / other state and have Punjab Domicile with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (for SC/ ST 40%) or equivalent grade point are eligible for admission to various disciplines of B.E / B. Tech course.
2. The candidate must posses a good moral character. He / She fulfill the requirements laid down by PTU. He / She is a citizen of India. 10% seats of total intake of each branch are filled in second year out of which 33.3% seats are reserved as management quota which are filled directly by the college.
Admission Procedure
Admission is carried out through CET of PTU for Punjab Domiciles and through AIEEE for students belonging to other states 66.6% seats from the Quota While 33.3% seats in each discipline are reserved for Management Quota. Admissions to all seats are made on the Basis of merit of CET/AIEEE/10+2.
